Meet your Coach...

AcroYoga coach Lily Thiboutot, who teaches AcroYoga at Solcana Fitness in Minneapolis, MN.

Lily Thiboutot

Lily has been a student of AcroYoga for over 10 years and has four years of experience teaching. The combination of the practice and the AcroYoga Minneapolis community was a turning point for her relationship with her body. “Doing Acro, I found myself able to be playful and truly in my body - not self-conscious about it, just excited about what it can do. And it's such an honor to trust and be trusted by others as we work together to learn and calibrate poses” says Lily. In her free time Lily enjoys community singing, hanging with her nephews, and cooking new recipes with her partner using whatever comes in the csa. She hopes you’ll come to Solcacro and contribute to the play!

FAQ about Solcanacro

What should I wear?
Solcana does not have a dress code, so wear what you feel comfortable moving in! Just keep in mind that you will be supporting/supported by another person’s body so long loose pants and otherwise flowy or slippery clothing might not be the best option for this practice. Also note: acro is a barefoot activity.

I’m in a big body, is this practice for me?
Yes! All bodies can participate in acro.
I’m nervous about my body leaving the floor! Can I still participate?
Yes. There are plenty of options that do not require your feet to leave the ground.

Do I need to touch other people to participate?
Yep! Physically supporting each other’s bodies is an integral part of acro.

I’m not sure if this is for me, can I just come watch?

Sure! You can come and watch a class or watch the beginning and jump in later if you’re feeling the vibe.

I’m nervous about touching strangers, can I bring a partner and just work with them?
Absolutely.

Can I come alone? Will there be people to partner with?
Absolutely.

How is the class structured?

The class will start with introductions and a warm up consisting of partner stretches and exploring trust and communication with other humans when someone's feet are not on the ground.
