Welcome to the Fall Programming Cycle and The Fall Challenge
Fall is a time of immense change. 2024 will be especially full of exciting changes for Solcana. We are moving into our own new space. We are hosting Drop Deadlift Gorgeous at the new space, this time in the fall. We are also shifting the focus of our workouts and getting into our Fall Challenge.
Some things will stay the same during our Fall Programming Cycle. We will continue our current mix of strength, conditioning and hypertrophy. We will also continue to see a wide variety of strength, skill and conditioning exercises.
For Fall, our focus will shift toward strength gains and the exercises needed to support them. We will use big lifts to load our major muscle groups. We will also use isolations and time under tension to build stability and muscular endurance. This combination will lead to safe, sustainable strength gains.
The Fall Challenge
The Fall Challenge is an event spanning several months where we focus on a few movements to work on as a gym. It is built into the Fall Programming already but see below for some additional ways to participate.
This year, the fall challenge movements will be:
1-3 Rep Maximum Deadlift
1-3 Rep Maximum Jerk
AMRAP/2 Strict or Assisted Pull Up
We will test-in to these movements during classes on Monday or Tuesday, 9/9/24 or 9/10/24 or during any Open Gym that week.
We will test-out of these movements during classes on Monday or Tuesday, 11/18/24 or 11/19/24 or during any Open Gym that week.
