Kickoff to the Invitational and Event #1!

This is the first of many announcements for The 2025 Invitational. We will also post information on the socials and in Wodify. Read on and stay tuned for more details for Event #1 and all the Invitational Events.

Each Invitational Event consists of the following: 

  • The Event Workout details; these will come out each Thursday morning during The Invitational (3/7/25-4/7/25)

  • The theme for each event and Friday Night Lights (FNL); these are simple dress-up ideas and are completely optional; join in the fun as you like whenever you come in (not just during FNL)

  • After party plans for each Friday Night Lights

  • Other fun stuff like team challenges, prizes, additional social opportunities, etc.

Event #1 starts this Friday, 3/7/25. The Event and Workout details are below, including a video walking you through all the different workout options.

Here are all the times that you can come in and do the workouts. These will be the same for all the following weeks of the Invitational (check Wodify to confirm and sign up):

  • During every Group Fitness class each Friday

  • During Friday Night Lights, 4:30-7PM each Friday

  • Saturdays, 8AM Invitational Workout Open Gym (self directed in the back room)

  • Saturdays, 9AM Group Fitness will be just the Invitational Workout

  • Sunday and Monday Open Gym times

If you come during an Open Gym, please be sure to record your scores into Wodify. Ask any coach to help with this or email your score to [email protected] 

Event #1

Event #1 Theme (highly optional, low-risk fun): Wild Socks! Grab your weirdest, wildest and/or silliest socks and then put them on and then come to Solcana. It’s truly that simple. Longer socks will protect your shins from the bar on those Cleans. Win-win!!!

Friday Night Lights After Party: Walk on over to our friends and neighbors at Arbiter Brewing for chats, beverages and food truck eats; ~7PM until people want to leave or they kick us out. They are offering up Happy Hour prices on drinks, so just let them know that you are from Solcana to get $1 off pints! La Tortilla food truck will be on site until 8PM.

Team Challenge: You already did it, name your team. We will give some simple prizes and much glory to the teams that you all think chose the best names. See all the teams and vote HERE.

Workout 25.1a and 25.1b

We previewed this one on 1/24/25 so you can try to beat your own score! It is a multi-dimensional 2 parter. The first part is a mix of speed, strength and power while the second part is all strength. To do your best, pick options that will challenge you safely and focus on good form first.

Hot Tips:

  • Pick where you want to shine. If you can go fast AND lift heavy, great, but most people will want to focus on really maximizing part A or part B. 

  • Pace yourself! Come out too fast on Burpees and Push Press and you will run out of steam very quickly. 

  • Burpees are not a place to make a lot of time, but they can make you need to rest. Keep them steady but chill until at least half way. 

  • Rest before you lift. Get a couple reps in early, but then pace yourself to have lots of rest time, aiming to hit your heaviest lift right in that 6th minute.

  • Plan your reps. Do not do too many lifts building up, but do not make too big of jumps either.
