Event #2
Event #2 Theme (entirely optional, literally make it your own): Crop Tops! 👕✂️ Get those scissors out and absolutely destroy (read: improve) that custom printed T. 😂 Or just tuck, fold or tape it. Let that skin breathe a bit. You will shave seconds off your workout time or maybe you will shave cryptic messages into your belly hair. We are ready for anything.
Friday Night Lights After Party: Spoiler Alert!!! It worked so well the first week that we asked our friends at Arbiter to be our official after party hosts and guess what... THEY SAID YES!!!!
Where: Arbiter Brewing
What: Hanging out, beverages and food truck eats
When: 7PM until people want to leave or they kick us out
Why: Because it's fun and you might meet your new gym BFF. Get $1 off pints just for being from Solcana!
Event #2 Team Challenge: What's your team's whole deal? Come up with a team schtick or thing. Maybe you have a cheer you do. Maybe you quitely brood in the corner together. Maybe you have a magic sock that you never wash and take turns wearing it. This can be real or fictional, up to you.
Whatever weird thing your team is into... tell us about it HERE. This is, of course, just for fun. We will share what everyone's whole deal is next week for lolz and inspiration.
Workout 25.2
Get ready to feel the burn. This one is going to be a long, fast(?) test of all out fortitude. We are hitting rowing skill, cardiovascular endurance, single leg strength and hinge strength in an AMRAP format. That means it's all about pacing and grit.
WATCH THIS VIDEO to see the movements and options.
Hot Tips:
Pace will decide the race. Pick a rowing pace that you can maintain and that actually lets you recover a bit from the other movements. Try to speed up slightly throughout rather than slow down.
Go heavy if you can!!! Don't worry about doing everything unbroken. Find a challenge you can do safely and take breaks early and often for a balanced mix of strength and energy challenge. If you go too light it will be all cardio.
Settle in and have fun. This will be a good one to have some teammates cheering you on for.
Things to know about the movement standards:
Rower must be reset each round! You can't count your coast from the previous round.
You can rest during the Lunge Walk, but you must Lunge over a line for the rep to count.
For Sun and Moon, you can use up to 45# plates to elevate your KBs for the Deadlifts. This is optional and intended for people who otherwise cannot reach KBs without rounding.
Lunges for Sun and Moon are to the athlete's best depth, which each judge will evaluate before the workout begins.
