CLASS WAITLISTS: Change To Automated Sign-Ups Coming!

December 05, 20252 min read

By popular demand, we will be changing to an automated sign-up for our class waitlists beginning on January 2nd, 2026. Besides your many requests, there are a few other reasons we want to give this a try. We continue to see classes running with big waitlists, but not actually full attendance. We also want to make it feel more fair to people who sign up early, but then do not have access to their devices when spots open up due to life obligations.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Wodify will automatically sign you up for class if you are on the waitlist and a spot opens up. This will be on a first come, first serve basis. You will receive an email and push notification when this happens.

  • You will only be automatically signed up before the “late cancel” window. This is 2 hours before the start of class for most classes, but will be different for early morning classes:

    • 6AM, late cancel will begin at 8PM

    • 6:30AM, late cancel will begin at 8:30PM

    • 7AM, late cancel will begin at 9PM

    • 8AM, late cancel will begin at 10PM

    • 9AM, late cancel will begin at 11PM

  • For these classes, you will be automatically signed in and notified if a spot opens before this “late cancel” window. If you are already signed up and cancel your class after this time, it will count as a late cancellation and count against your class totals.

  • As always, we encourage you to only sign up for classes you are reasonably sure you will attend and to cancel as early as possible when needed. We will always work with you around emergencies.

  • Within the “late cancel” window, the waitlist will behave as it does now: you will be notified of openings and need to indicate if you want to sign up.

Here’s an example: Kim signs up for 6AM class and Pat gets on the waitlist for the same 6AM class. Kim ends up needing to cancel and does so at 7:30PM the night before. Pat is first on the list and gets added to the class. Pat receives a notification at 7:30PM and is all set to wake up and get to class on time. Kim gets to save that sign up for another day.

Example 2: Same scenario except Kim doesn’t cancel until 8:30PM. In this case, Pat and everyone else gets notified then. This time, Steven is first to respond and gets into the class. Kim loses that sign up because it is a late cancellation.

We are hoping that this change will make the waitlist feel easier and more fair, and allow class spots that would otherwise go unfilled to get used. We will of course keep a close eye on how it affects you and we will be eager to hear feedback once it gets rolling.
