"This was a vulnerable, revolutionary program that helped me treat myself and my body with love, joy, and compassion in movement. I feel like I learned so much about the ways that I punished my body and learned to transform my motivation into joy, connection, and love."
-Kata R.
"“If you've ever struggled with a negative body image, felt like you had a difficult relationship with food, or found it impossible to stay motivated enough to stick to any kind of fitness plan, this program is life-changing.” -Gabi
"The body relationship class has changed my life! It helped me develop a positive friendship with my body. Now I find more joy in everyday tasks and take pride in so many of the amazing things my body can do that I used to take for granted! I’m forever grateful for this experience. "
Q: What’s this program about?
A: In a world that’s so full of stuff to worry about, this program provides dedicated time for you to focus on your body relationship, which includes food and movement. This is not a class focused on weight loss or body composition, though your coaches can support you if you have goals in those areas. With so many “experts” touting what to eat and how to move, your coach will help cut through the noise as you learn to trust in your own inherent wisdom through concentrated practice over time.
Q: What time are the group classes?
A: Live classes run weekly at 7pm CST on Tuesdays, and are accessed through a zoom link. You will work with your individual accountability coach to schedule your weekly one-on-one meetings separate from the group class. Attendance at these classes and meetings is crucial to get the most out of this program. Previous participants have praised the value of sharing perspectives in community with one another.
Q: What can I expect from a group class?
A: Each week, you will be given a pre-recorded video to watch centering on skills to build a better relationship with your body. During class, you will engage in group discussion based on your responses, reactions, and questions from the video. In addition to discussion, there will be time to “try on” or practice these skills in a supportive environment.
Q: What can I expect from a one-on-one coaching session with Lauren or Jess?
A: In the individual 25 minute session, your coach will help you clarify goals, track and adjust in real time week to week, and provide accountability, support, and care as you work towards those goals.
Q: Do I have to be at a certain fitness level to do this?
A: Every body can benefit from this course at any fitness level. Our focus is recognizing, accepting, and valuing the body that you’re in, and finding joy and connection in moving and feeding that body.
Q: What if I don't want nutritional support or I have a history of food issues?
A: Nutrition guidance and support is available if specifically desired, but not prioritized. The priority is learning how to be in relationship with your body and listen to what it needs, whether that be in the arena of food, movement, joy, connection, etc.
Q: What if I am tired of doing stuff online?
A: We get it. It's been a long pandemic for everyone, and doing one more thing online might seem daunting. Our program number is intentionally kept small so that we can all show up authentically and share. Meeting online allows more flexibility to participate amongst your other commitments. We focus on building community through this shared experience and encourage participants to connect with each other outside of class for added accountability and potential friendship!
